Molekulargenetische Untersuchungen zur Vererbung von Atresia coli beim Rind
cattle, genome scan. - Atresia coli represents a sporadic congenital defect affecting both sexes. Calves die within the first days of live due to the absence of a colonic segment. Planned matings in a US Holstein herd suggested an autosomal monogenic recessive inheritance. The literature is contradictory, nongenetic factors are discussed as well.
